After the Super Sentai franchise ended its run last year with its final series, No.1 Sentai Gozyuger, fans were eagerly waiting for the upcoming reboot of the Power Rangers series, but this announcement will break their heart.
The announcement was made at this year's D23 fan convention in Anaheim, where it was stated in sources that the project will not proceed because of business-related factors, specifically concerning the budget. Producing a premium live-action superhero series requires significant investment, and the financial aspects are less advantageous if the studio does not own the intellectual property.
In this instance, the Power Rangers franchise is presently owned by Hasbro, and this will be the second time Disney+ has done the math and decided to say no to the project.
