A Tribute To Everybody's Best Friend, Gekidan

5 years has passes since we, the tokusatsu community, lost a good friend, since i lost my best friend, since the Villodres family lost an important member of the family. But after all the years that he was gone, he taught us one important lesson in life: never give up. Now, allow me, in honor of Gekidan's memory and his family, bring you the life and times of the great Daniel Villodres.
JEFusion Idol Talk - Gekidan and Idols

This Idol Talk is dedicated to the late Gekidan 5 years after we lost him.

In this episode I would like to share with everyone the bond Dan and I had over idols.

Happy Birthday To A Dear Friend And A Brother

Let's all take a break on all tokusatsu, anime, toys and gaming news for now as we celebrate another year of happiness for the birth of one of the greatest person that we have ever met in our lives: JEFusion head honcho Daniel Villodres.
The Greatest Brother One Could Ever Have: Gekidan

A year has been passed yet all the memories stays as it is.
He may have left us for good but he will never be forgotten.

He was first known as GekiViolet from Skewds FanSubs and Henshin Justice Unlimited forums then gradually changed his name to Gekidan, which has been he's best known today. Well, that's how others know him. But for me, he will always be my big brother Dan!

I have shared my life's fondest memories with him even from the time I was born. Our mother told me once before that he doesn't want any younger sibling and he even say, "I'll throw them to a carabao's shit!" when he's still little. By the time she told me that, I remembered him laughing so hard at the idea. Honestly, I never thought of that because all the baby pictures I had, he's always there standing guard before me. We become closer as we grow up; only that, when we have a fight, our parents compares us to ten siblings fighting each other.

The first time I got to know his real condition is when I was in elementary school, 2nd grade I think. I noticed our parents buy anything and everything he wanted and they don't for me. I sulk a lot that time then our mother approached me saying, "Just let it be for we don't know until when he's gonna stay." She always tells me that but I never expect that he will give me more than enough. After our father retired from work, he has already started JEFusion by that time so, he voluntarily stood for the family's finances including my allowance and tuition.

If not for him and his physical condition, we will never be able to meet these wonderful people who kept on supporting us no matter what happens and no matter where they are. Things may have changed for this past year since he's gone but we'll make it sure that all the fun that we will experience and experiencing all throughout is that he is included in each of them.

He is indeed the greatest brother one could ever have! And commemorating the our memories with him brings smiles on our faces. We are very thankful that God brought him to our lives making it more colorful and meaningful...

Gekidan's First Death Anniversary: A Dear Friend's Look Back

It's been a year since we all lost a dear friend, a loving son and brother, a hardworking bread winner to his family and the bringer of good news for the tokusatsu, anime and gaming community. But the spirit of this ultimate good guy is still alive in our hearts. Here's my little look back at the times that me, my friends had with Daniel through the good and bad times.
I can't believe its already been a year.
I can't believe its already been a year since JEFusion and the entire nerd community lost someone very special. One year since a great friend of mine left this world. Amazing how fast time goes when you think about this.

I've known Gekidan since at least 2006 when I joined and became a part of Henshin Justice Unlimited. I remember the one on one conversation he had with me when he first thought up JEFusion and thought of it as a hub for all sorts of nerd news and reviews. Chances are without Gekidan my writing would not be at the level it is now and stuff such as my Tokusatsu fanpage and my Captain B-Money page would cease to have existed.

Gekidan always knew my inspiration to get more people into Ultraman and always encouraged me to write about it for JEFusion or any other Tokusatsu-esqe fanblog. It didn't stop there either because without Gekidan I would not have wrote about Metal Heroes as well and look at where we are now with Metal Heroes coming back in movie format starting with Gaven and now we have more coming.

Gekidan has also been a great middleman for me as well. I once bought a DX Kamen Rider Kaixa belt from him that would have normally cost me around 400 United States Dollars for around 90 United States Dollars. I still have the belt. I still have all of my DX Ultra/Rider/Sentai stuff in general actually. But I hold the Kaixa belt close because it came from Dan.

I almost wish I believed in some kind of Afterlife because I'm pretty sure Gekidan would be happy at how well his legacy has became in the Tokusatsu and other fandoms. His legacy will continue to grow I'm sure of it with JEFusion hosting a Convention that sadly I can't make it to.

As JEFusion contiues to grow and get a bigger and better name for itself it is always great to remember who was the one who thought of it all. Here's to you Gekidan. I'll have more drinks in your name this year.

GekiDan Passed Away at 25

In line with the previous post, a sad news to everyone who views and watches this website... My brother Daniel known as GekiDan, passed away at 1:45AM this morning. It was already expected that this day will arrive.

As for everyone's knowledge, my brother was diagnosed with Centronuclear Myopathy since he was 4 years old. It is a condition wherein the muscle cells were not fully developed and tends to weaken and turned smaller as the patient grows up. It is a one in a million case and still has no cure. According to medical researches, only 50 families with a member having the same condition were recorded.

In my brother's case, he stopped walking when he was 5. And his health deteriorates as he grew older. But still, he finished elementary and high school in a normal school as a normal student. He graduated two courses in college, Cartooning and Web Page Designing through a homestudy program with excellent grades. He was able to enjoy his life to its fullest as he meets new friends in and out of the net. He's good friends with Henshin Justice Unlimited people but wasn't able to see them for he passed away earlier the day that we should meet for the last time we gathered up was when we watched Gatchaman on cinema together.

For the past few days, he feels weak and usually got headaches or felt dizziness in which we thought that the complications of his disease started.. He was confined last Friday, December 27th at San Lorenzo Hospital and was transferred yesterday at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute yesterday afternoon. Also, he was blessed by Fr. Charlie, a priest for Sacred Heart Village together with Sr. Nona Parra, a Carmelite nun before he was transferred. We thought that he's been doing fine when he was transferrred but we really do think that he himself doesn't want anymore sufferings and he doesn't want us to see him like that anymore. He left us without saying anything; he just slept and with that, he died early morning of December 30th 2013 at the age of 25.

Kuya Dan, all in all, is a great son, brother and friend. He thinks of others before himself most of the time. He has become a breadwinner of the family. He supported me financially during my last two years in college and when I started my home study program in Comprehensive Art. He also provided us with a brand new car. He worked so hard for us and now it's our turn to return the favor and pay everything forward.

And as a contributor in JEFusion, I plan to continue working with it. This website has done a lot for us... I promise to study everything about the blog and continue.

I'll just inform everyone on where would be the wake. Thank you for being a part of his wonderful and fruitful life!

The Founder has passed.
It is with incredibly sad news that I rely to the fans and otaku's all around the world that Daniel Vilodres. Gekidan Owner and Founder of this website has passed away.

GekiDan is known for getting groups of people together and discussing many different types of nerd related culture from Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman As Well as Anime that he enjoyed and liked to talk about to different types of Science Fiction and Stories in general.

Gekidan would be kind to everyone and help everyone with whatever they needed. Gekidan was the kind of man who would listen to your opinions and let you know what he thought. even if it was a pointless dispute over something little.

As a Member of JEFusion I vow to do my best to keep this site going. keep it from blowing into nothingness. But this site wouldn't be anything without what Dan has built and the fans that we have gathered up. thank you so much for being there.

From what I Know Dan Gathered an Illnes a few weeks ago. What that Illness was I am unsure but it would not get out of his system. It sadly won.But Dan's Legacy will never go away. He was a great man to everyone in the Tokusatsu Fandom and the Otaku Community of the Planet Earth in general.
