Latest photos of the The Next Generation -Patlabor- series and film project revealed new photos of the AV-98 Ingram mecha and it's cockpit. In addition to that, more photos featuring the film's cast is revealed

Erina Mano (Kamen Rider Fourze) stars as pilot Akira Izumino, Seiji Fukushi as Yūma Shiobara, Rina Oota as Ekaterina Krachevna Kankaeva ("Kasha") from Russia, Shigeru Chiba reprising his anime role as maintenance squad chief Shigeo Shiba, and Toshio Kakei as Captain Keiji Gotōda (the successor to the anime's Captain Kiichi Gotō).


The project begins as a seven-part series, which is composed of an episode 0 that lasts for 10 minutes and 12 full episodes directed by project's chief director Mamoru Oshii and other directors. Oshii will also direct the feature-length film that will open in Spring 2015.

Each part of the seven-part series will last for 45 minutes with the first part that is set to premiere on April 5, 2014.

"Next Generation Patlabor" First Teaser Unveiled

The first 30-second teaser had been released for director Mamoru Oshii's upcoming seven-part live action series The Next Generation Patlabor project. The series will be led by Erina Mano (Kamen Rider Fourze, Minna! Esper Dayo!).


Instead of a remake of the original, The Next Generation Patlabor will be a completely new story set in Tokyo, in the year 2013, following the "third generation" of Patlabor. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police has disbanded its Section 2 Division 1 of police robots, and Section 2 Division 2 barely survived the budget cuts due to the long recession.

The first part is set to premiere on April 5th, 2014 in the Shinjuku Piccadilly theater.
Live Action 'Patlabor" Project's Press Conference Video

Mantan Web started streaming the press conference video for the upcoming seven-part live action series The Next Generation Patlabor that happened yesterday. The cast, led by Erina Mano (Kamen Rider Fourze, Minna! Esper Dayo!), the staff, as well as director Mamoru Oshii was present in the event.

The seven parts are composed of an episode 0 (about 10 minutes long) and 12 full episodes (about 48 minutes long), then a feature-length film (about 100 minutes long) is scheduled to be released on 2015.
New "Patlabor" Live Action Film Visual Unveiled

The latest visual for the live action adaptation of Headgear's mecha manga and anime Mobile Police Patlabor had been unveiled at the Taiwan International Comic Exposition. The movie is scheduled for a 2014 release. ARE YOU READY?!

Set in a futuristic 1998-2002, where robots called "Labors" are employed in heavy construction work. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police has its own fleet of Patlabor robotic police officers to combat crimes and deal with accidents involving Labors. The story focuses on Noa Izumi, a member of Tokyo Metropolitan Police Special Vehicle Section 2, Division 2.


The film's official website also changed its background image showing the Patlabor mecha facing the waters and the city.

Headgear is composed of director Mamoru Oshii, writer Kazunori Itō, mecha designer Yutaka Izubuchi, character designer Akemi Takada, and manga artist Masami Yūki. Omnibus Japan (Ghost in the Shell, Evangelion), an audio and computer graphics studio tied to Tohokushinsha, is co-producing the new project.

Live Action "Patlabor" Project Coming 2014

Tohokushinsha Film Corporation announced that a live action adaptation of Headgear's mecha manga and anime Mobile Police Patlabor will be coming our way this 2014. Along with it, the film's official website had been officially launched.

Headgear is composed of director Mamoru Oshii, writer Kazunori Itō, mecha designer Yutaka Izubuchi, character designer Akemi Takada, and manga artist Masami Yūki. Director Oshii previously declined to comment on a rumor on the manga's live action film adaptation. So far, it has not been announced if the project is a live action TV series or a film.
